Hishaku is a water ladle traditionally used in the Japanese chanoju tea ceremony to scoop hot water. It has a handy long handle and holds exactly the amount of water needed for usucha (thin tea). Not only does it add atmosphere and authenticity to tea sessions, but it is also practical. When it's 80% full, it's the right amount of water for usucha, when it's half full, it's the perfect amount for koicha (thick tea).
