The total production of this tea is only 2 kilograms this year. Hand-picked and processed using a technique developed over the years at Jun Chiyabari, inspired by the methods used in the processing of Taiwanese Baozhong.
A masterpiece. An experimental oolong from Nepal’s leading tea producer, created from a unique blend of Japanese and Taiwanese tea cultivars. It features a delicate creamy taste combined with floral notes.
The Jun Chiyabari tea garden is located in the hills above the town of Hile in the Dhankuta district. Divided into five sections at elevations ranging from 1700 to 2100 meters above sea level, it covers an area of 96 hectares. From the very beginning, Jun Chiyabari has been a meticulously planned organic garden project—starting with land acquisition in carefully selected locations, planting chosen cultivars, designing a tea factory, and hiring the best people in the tea industry.
The core philosophy of Jun Chiyabari is respect for tea, people, and nature. Their goal is simply to produce the best possible teas while maintaining organic and environmentally friendly practices, heavily inspired by Masanobu Fukuoka.
In Nepali, Jun Chiyabari means “moonlit tea garden,” and Jun (純) in Japanese means “pure.”
