Kamoshika Koucha is a Japanese black tea from the plantations of Aleš and Sashiko in the village of Higashi Shirakawa. It is a delightful choice for anyone who prefers mild, sweeter flavors with honey-like notes. While most black teas in Japan are made from summer harvests, with the finest spring harvest reserved for green tea, Nengancha takes a unique approach. You can enjoy a spring black tea, packed with energy and nutrients that the tea plants gathered throughout the winter.

Kamoshika Koucha is nearly impossible to oversteep, making it an excellent choice even for tea beginners. In the winter, it’s perfect as a hot brew, while in the summer, it’s equally delicious served as an iced tea or prepared as a cold brew.

The tea’s nickname, "Kamoshika" (羚羊), comes from the Japanese serow, a charming creature that lives in the surrounding forests and mountains and is featured on the packaging.

Nengancha 念願茶 is the name of the plantation located in the village of Higashi Shirakawa ("Eastern White River") in Gifu Prefecture. At an altitude of 450-500 meters, surrounded by dense forests and facing south, this plantation enjoys a unique microclimate ideal for tea cultivation. High annual rainfall (approx. 2500 mm), frequent mists, and significant temperature differences between day and night create perfect conditions for producing exceptional tea.
