Asamushi
ASAMUSHI - light steaming 浅蒸茶
Asamushi is the name for light steaming, compared to other types the tea leaves are steamed for the shortest time (20-30 seconds). Asamushi is used for delicate and high quality green teas, which are best served by this traditional method. Due to the short steaming time, the leaves retain their beautiful shape without breaking. Lightly steamed teas, they are suitable for any teapot, shibori-dashi or gaiwan - you don't need as fine a strainer as with deeply steamed teas.
