Chaka means "tea flower" in Japanese.
Matcha - the rarest tea of ancient Japan, meant only for the elite and clerics. Today this tea is popular and sought after for its miraculous stimulating effects and as a superfood. Chaka matcha is ground from gyokuro tea, combining the best of two of Japan's rarest teas. The tea leaves, grown on an organic plantation, were shaded for three weeks and then ground to a powder in the traditional and only proper way on a stone mill.
When you drink matcha, you are actually consuming not just the infusion, but the entire tea leaf - this not only multiplies the absorption of nutrients, but also makes the boost significantly stronger and longer-lasting. Gyokuro, on the other hand, delivers large amounts of L-Theanine and so directly affects the areas of the brain responsible for relaxation. The result is sheer relaxed attention.
Not all that glitters is gold, and not all matcha is a tea to write poems about - but matcha Chaka, with its distinctive creamy flavour, literally charged with bright green energy, deserves your attention.
